How much do you charge?

This depends on the project. Please feel free to get in touch with us for a quote. However, before we can quote for your project we'll need a full brief and/or copy of the script or storyboards and as much additional information as possible about the special effects, prosthetics and make-up requirements that will be needed to tell your story as well as the overall total budget for your film, tv series or advertisement.

The following diagram is a useful way of thinking about a project.

How much pre-production time is required?

Most prosthetic character make-ups designed to fit an actor require adequate pre-production time and adequate access to an actor before commencing shooting. This pre-production time can be broken into seven steps: 1. design and planning, 2. life-casting, 3. master moulding the lifecasts, 4. sculpting, 5. mould-making, 6. fabrication and then any 7. finishing work. Designs incorporating animatronics or puppetry also need further time again for mechanization. There is also significant work involved in clean up in between processes, communications, managing logistics alongside planning and purchasing. Depending on the complexity this work can take anywhere between 4-12 weeks pre-production time.
